I love to use either green pumpkin or the watermelon color with redflakes seems to do the trick for me

What is your favorite Bass lure to use?  Mine would be a grub rigged weedless with a 1/0 offset hook reeling really slow depending on weather conditions mostly during the spring time i real nice and slow like a crankbait and the bass go nuts

Great attitude. I work sometimes 12+ hours and have a one year old girl at home so if I can sneak in even 15 minutes thru the week at a local farm pond, you can find me there! Any chance I get.

Spawning / Re: spawn

I think there is more involved than just the water temps. A local biologist says that the length of the day light hours is a big factor. Then you have rising and falling water levels and some say the moon phase also plays into it. The length of day plays into the way deer and turkey know when its time to start breeding "Rutting". Usually later in April here on Truman for the real good spawn fishing to get started. Have seen the best week of catching them on the banks in the 2nd week of May.

General Discussion / Truman ice
« Last post by Jigging15 on February 19, 2014, 08:53:13 pm »
Looks like we are finally starting to see some open water on Truman lake. Still can't get to it from any ramps but should open up quickly with all the wind we are getting and the rain they are calling for tonight. They have run some water through the dam this week and it has opened up the river for a pretty good ways. Should be some crappie being caught there this week. The walleye will also start making there run up to the dam as the water temps start to creep up. The upper end of Truman had people ice fishing on it with 9" of ice over this past weekend. So really looking forward to the ice being gone so we can get the boats out and start spider rigging.
